Interior Remodel – New Staircase

solid structures Interior Remodel – Custom Staircase as Architectural Focal Point

This remodel centered around opening up the home’s layout and creating a striking architectural feature: a custom-built floating staircase. The new staircase design introduces both functionality and artistry into the space, becoming the heart of the mountain Solid log structure home.

Crafted with hand-selected beetle-killed pine logs, the treads bring a unique Colorado character and natural beauty, while honoring sustainable building practices. The wood’s blue-gray streaks contrast beautifully against the powder-coated steel stringer, offering a clean, modern structure with organic warmth.

The open-riser design enhances natural light flow and maintains visual continuity throughout the interior—perfectly blending rustic and contemporary aesthetics in a truly custom centerpiece.
